End of Season 2027

Introdans concludes the season with a festive End of Season 2027: a sparkling dance evening filled with audience favorites and gems from the repertoire. With works by Hans van Manen, Inbal Pinto, and Lucinda Childs, an evening full of humor, imagination, and virtuosity awaits – made extra special this year thanks to live music by Orkest Phion.

The program brings together three contrasting masterpieces. Hans van Manen’s Black Cake (1989) – originally created for the 30th anniversary of the Nederlands Danstheater – is a party full of champagne, humor, and a touch of sarcasm, and has been part of Introdans’ repertoire for over twenty years. Rushes by Inbal Pinto (2009) takes the audience on a whirlwind journey through a light-footed game of musical chairs: comical, peculiar, and moving all at once. Lucinda Childs’ Chairman Dances (2000), set to the eponymous composition by John Adams, demonstrates how repetitive movements in minimalist dance achieve a magical, poetic effect – while simultaneously displaying impressive virtuosity and explosive power.

For over 50 years, Introdans has been inspiring as many people as possible with the art of dance: with an internationally leading dance repertoire that caters to both adult and young audiences. Valuable dance heritage alongside innovative creations, contemporary styles for a broad taste.

End of Season is a celebration full of surprises every year. For me, this evening is an ode to talent, collaboration, and innovation – and an invitation to the audience to experience the celebration of dance with us. This year, that experience will be even richer thanks to the live music of Orkest Phion.” – Roel Voorintholt
