The New Diamonds
Following the overwhelming success of The Story of the Blue Diamonds, Patrick Drabe and Steffen de Wolff return with Part 2. A brand new chapter full of nostalgia, emotion, and musicality in the legacy of the legendary duo The Blue Diamonds.
What started as a one-off tribute grew into a full theater tour filled with nostalgia, emotion, and musicality. But the story of The Blue Diamonds is far from over.
The origin of this musical journey lies with the legendary duo The Blue Diamonds, consisting of brothers Ruud and Riem de Wolff. They conquered the world in the early 1960s with hits like Ramona and toured sold-out stadiums in Indonesia, Scandinavia, Australia, and Central America. After their military service, the music landscape changed drastically with the arrival of The Beatles, among others, causing their popularity in Europe to slowly decline. Nevertheless, they remained icons in the Far East, where they performed well into the 1980s.
The New Diamonds – The Story of the Blue Diamonds Part 2 is both a sequel and a renewal. The great hits of yesteryear remain central, but the show has been enriched with new songs and accompanying stories. With this performance, Steffen de Wolff and Patrick Drabe show that the legacy of The Blue Diamonds is still very much alive – on stage, in the music, and in the hearts of the audience. The story continues. Don’t miss it!
After Ruud’s passing in 2000, Riem found the strength to continue with the support of fellow artists and his son Steffen. Under the name The New Diamonds, they released the album Out Of The Blue in 2001, produced by Patrick Drabe. This marked a new beginning; Riem continued to perform for years – solo and with The New Diamonds – until his passing in 2017. In 2023, the musical legacy of Ruud and Riem was honored by The New Diamonds with a successful tribute at De Doelen in Rotterdam. The reactions were so positive that the audience called for more, and the show was born.
