Geworteld is a brand-new theatre concert in which Marlijn explores the phenomenon of ‘home’. After many moves, she discovered that she would give anything for a foundation. Geworteld is a brand-new theatre concert in which Marlijn Weerdenburg goes in search of the phenomenon of ‘home’. Marlijn moved countless times in her life. When she was unpacking her moving boxes in a new city for the umpteenth time, she discovered that she would give anything to have a primal foundation. She thought with some jealousy of colleagues such as Daniel Lohues, Danny Vera, Tania Kross, Frans Bauer, and Roxeanne Hazes, who remain rooted in their native soil to this day.

Marlijn wrote about this theme together with them, and the result is beautiful new duets. Lyricists such as Jan Beuving and Antoine Uitdehaag also contribute brand-new material for Geworteld . In addition, Marlijn selects the most beautiful repertoire to take the audience along in her story with her unique voice and engaging personality.

What would it have been like if she still lived in the city where she was born, if she still went to the bakery where she used to buy bread as a little girl, hand in hand with her mother? If her father lived a stone’s throw away and her child learned to ride a bike in the little square where she herself also rode without training wheels for the first time.

About Marlijn Weerdenburg: You might know the multi-talented Marlijn as Maria in The Passion, from her musical work in Diana & Zonen and Dear Evan Hansen , among others, the title role in Danni Lowinski , and her presenting work for Moltalk, DNA Onbekend, and Hotel Romantiek, among others.
