Howling Road

In Howling Road, four dancers and two musicians search together for a place to land—for what remains when everything is taken away: the body, the voice, and each other. Duos waltz like a whirlwind on a single square meter, their feet beating a rhythm that grows into a polyphonic song.
Passionate resistance and an exercise in connection – a reminder of the richness and resilience hidden within the body itself. For Howling Road, De Dansers collaborates with Amsterdam-based songwriter and singer Pitou Nicolaes, whose music is characterized by her enchanting, multicolored voice and distinctive compositions.
De Dansers is a dynamic band of dancers and musicians from Utrecht, led by choreographer Josephine van Rheenen and composer Guy Corneille. Their dance concerts – equal convergences of modern dance and live music – are raw, intuitive, and captivating. With rhythm, touch, and surrender, they create performances about liberation and surrender for both children and adults.
