Don’t despair

World politics is a game with ever-higher stakes. International relations are under pressure, and impulsive leaders chase power. Is there still room for hope? Panama Pictures offers the answer in a breathtaking performance in which acrobatics, dance, and live music merge into a poetic story about power, chaos, and interconnectedness.

In Don’t Despair, you are drawn into a spectacle high in the air: an ingenious suspended set, a labyrinth of planks, platforms, and ropes in which performers must remain constantly on high alert. One wrong step and everything collapses; one loosened rope and they fall. In this treacherous environment, they are forced to choose: will they go for personal gain and the top? Or will they forge a peaceful alliance?

With its unique language of dance and acrobatics that embraces risk but never loses sight of humanity, Panama Pictures responds to a changing world. Singer and multi-instrumentalist iET (Lisa van Viegen-Mokoginta) offers a different perspective with her warm voice, trumpet, and guitar – sometimes vulnerable and melancholic, then again decisive and exhilarating.
