Following the success of Nieuwe Buren, Senf Producties is once again bringing a thrilling thriller by Saskia Noort to the stage. Top actors Isa Hoes and Edwin Jonker play the lead roles in a suffocating game of lies and betrayal.
Plastic surgeon Mathilde seems to be leading the perfect life. But while she opens her brand-new, ultra-modern private clinic, her own home lies in ruins due to a completely derailed renovation. Her husband Rogier is battling burnout, and their daughter escapes the chaos by retreating to the garden shed.
When Mathilde is forced to accept help from her dubious ex Johan, she finds herself in a dangerous game with no way out and slowly becomes entangled in a suffocating web of deception, lies, and betrayal.
Edwin Jonker, previously seen in Nieuwe Buren , plays both the role of the burnout-plagued husband Rogier and that of the charismatic but unreliable Johan. Young talent Jenell Tedjai plays the daughter.
De Verbouwing is a continuation of the collaboration between author Saskia Noort and Senf Producties, which began with Nieuwe Buren . In the coming years, they will jointly bring several of Noort’s books to the stage.
