Hailing from Assam, India, pianist Ron Cha’s music captures both his Indian roots and modern jazz and gospel influences. Raised in the hills, his latest album radiates a fresh yet melancholic energy. Having collaborated with artists such as Lizzy McAlpine and Laufey, his compositions move beyond the standard jazz soundscape by combining singer-songwriter-style melodies with improvisation as an essential ingredient.
For this special evening, the Ron Cha Trio collaborates with the famous Dutch alto saxophonist Ben van Gelder. His daring horn lines form a unique blend with the energetic interplay of the trio.
