Jakop Ahlbom Company

Jakop Ahlbom Company presents Unseen, a poetic love drama in the unique visual style of the makers of Lebensraum and Horror. A performance about what is truly of value – viewed from an unexpected angle.

An unhappy woman who feels lonely and unseen. A husband who cannot shake off the past. A silent burglar who spends the night in empty houses. The arrival of this burglar puts their relationship under even more pressure and makes them realize what is truly valuable.

Unseen is inspired, among other things, by the Korean film Bin-Jip by Kim Ki-Duk. It showcases Ahlbom’s fascination with elusive and surreal worlds – poetic, physical, and humorous, just as in the earlier Lebensraum .

Ahlbom’s distinctive style, in which exhausting physical acts, dance, and illusions are interwoven. Those moments are often poetic, look fantastic, and surprise.” ★★★★
– Elisabeth Oosterling, NRC

Extremely precise timing, gripping dance, breathtaking movement patterns, performed by supple bodies that revolve around each other like puppet members. ★★★★
– Hein Jansen, de Volkskrant

The precision at all levels, the remarkable finds – it commands undiminished respect and keeps you captivated time and again.
– Karin Veraart, Theaterkrant
